We’re sure that all of you wonder how to fly a plane? How can a pilot keep all of the aeronautical units in the cockpit under control? As we EESTEC’ers, planes are very important for us and you have a chance to know everything about them thanks to our great workshop “Above us only sky!”  which will take place in Ankara between 4.12.2010 and 12.12.2010.

 

The main topic of workshop is "Avionics" which is a combination of the words "aviation" and "electronics". As you may know, especially with the development of unmanned aerial vehicle, avionics has become a very popular topic nowadays. 

During the workshop, you'll have comprehensive knowledge about avionics by taking lectures regarding subtopics which are navigation, unmanned aerial vehicle, control, avionics history and development, and every other detail you need to know. Trainings will be given by professors and their assistants in Aerospace Engineering Department of Middle East Technical University which is one of the best technical university in Turkey and trainers of TAI(Turkish Aerospace Industries) which is the biggest company in Turkey in aerospace industry. You'll not only have lectures, but also visit production line in the factory of TAI, laboratories of Aerospace Engineering Department of Middle East Technical University, and aeronautic museums. In addition, you'll have an opportunity to see a simulation of how unmanned aerial vehicle works.

 

Now let’s move on to the fun part! We guarantee the enjoying part will be awesome as much as the academic part. You will have a great chance to get know "Turkish Kebab", "Turkish Nargile", "Turkish Belly Dance", "Turkish Raki" and the most important one “Turkish Hospitality”. Accommodation will be in the guest house of Turkish Aeronautics Association; that is, you're gonna stay with quite many planes. Every night we’ll enjoy with the non-stop and crazy parties with different themes such as masquerade party, aeronautics party where guys can be pilot and girls can be hostess for one night! But it's for sure; we'll not forget to have some EESTEC event traditions like sightseeing, international night as well.

 

LC Ankara will host 15 participants; however, we'll do our best to accept more participants. Deadline to apply is the 1st of November.

 

As you see, such a wonderful event in different continent, Asia is ready for you. So what you are supposed to do now is just to enter eestec.net and submit your application form!!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to build some robots? Or maybe you are curious about how amazing Riga and its’ nightlife is? JLC Riga has prepared for you our very first workshop “Plop, Plop, Fizz, Fizz, Oh, What a Robot it is?” and it will take place in Latvia, Riga from 5th till 12th December .

With the help of experienced trainers you will be able to gain practical skills to operate electronical components and learn basic programming that will let the Robot you build become a real fighter! All the built robots will take part Baltic states robot contest „Robotika”.

Besides that, we are planning to show you our best places in Riga and not only. You should know that Riga is famous with its architecture and skyline of 3 Church steeples, which has become a true visiting card. Well, of course when the sun goes down, the nightlife can begin and Old Riga is full of places to have fun – plenty of pubs and clubs. But you will have to see it all for yourselves.

For the weekend we have prepared to you little trip to Sigulda (also called “The Switzerland of Latvia) which is famous for its Castles and adorable landscapes.

Well, we cannot tell you all the details, but we can assure you that you will love it here. Don't miss this beautiful city !
