Moikka!

Tällä kertaa tulee kutsu LC Madridin järjestämään Sunny Spain revolutions 07 -vaihtoon. Ajankohta on 11.-18.7. Kutsusta päätellen viikko koostuu rennosta hauskanpidosta leirintäalueella. Leirintäalueelta on suora yhteys rannalle ja alueella on uima-altaita, urheilukenttiä yms. Se sijaitsee n. 500km kaakkoon Madridista (paikan nimi on La Manga). Paikan päälle voi matkustaa joko suoraan tai sitten Madridin kautta jatkaen paikallisten kanssa. Kuitenkin matka Madridista La Mangaan kuuluu myös osallistujan maksettavaksi. LC Madrid ei ole saanut sponsoreita tapahtumaansa, joten he joutuvat perimään 90e osallistumismaksun (tavallisesta EESTEC-reissusta poiketen). Maksu sisältää viikon majoituksen La Mangassa, ruoan, sangriaa, kaksi päivää vesiurheilua, vierailuja kyliin, rannalle yms.

LC Madrid invites you to his summer event

SUNNY SPAIN r e v o l u t i o n s 2007

"One week in the eastern coast of Spain, in a natural bay almost closed that forms an inside sea whose little deep waters keep warmer temperatures than in the rest of the Mediterranean coast. This is why that area is called "El Mar Menor" wich means "The Lesser Sea".

The event will be held in an international huge camping 5km away from Cabo de Palos and La Manga. The camping has direct access to the beach, and has also several swimming pools, sport fields and services, and is placed close to a protected landscape that previous participants have renamed as "the wild beach". http://www.caravaning.es/ (M$ IE only)"

LOCATION

TRANSPORT (you really should check this with the map)

As said, the event is not held in Madrid. It΄s in the eastern coast, 500km away from Madrid. The event starts in La Manga, so participants have to afford transport to/from La Manga, before and after the event.

You have several possibilities to reach the event: 1 - By train (interrail?), arriving to Cartagena (see map) Train Station. From where we can pick you up, not before 11th July 15:00. 2 - By bus, train, airplane to Madrid. In this case participants stay in a hostel in Madrid untill 11th July morning, when they part (together with some spaniards) to La Manga by bus. Participants have to afford all hostel and bus expenses, LC Madrid helps with all the booking. This has been the most popular option both previous years. Important: LAST DATE to arrive to Madrid (perfect date, least hostel expenses for you): 10th July. Hostel cost per night: about 20EUR. Bus return ticket to La Manga: around 55EUR. 3 - By car, also a very used option. Plan your trip to be in La Manga on July 11th. 4 - Other possibilities, such as flights to San Javier airport, Alicante airport, Valencia airport (see map), from where to take a bus down to La Manga. Only one person chose this option in two years, as it's less indicated since we can't help with reservation of bus, hostel, etc, in cities 450km away from us, but still an option for adventurers.

Participants must inform the cp (that's me!) so we can help out and keep an updated schedule of arrivals. Please ask me whatever doubt you have, we have done this 3 times now!

KEY DATES

It is crucial that you respect the arrival/departure limits, as there will be a long distance trip after arrivals to Madrid, and before departures from Madrid.

10th July: LAST DAY (perfect day, see TRANSPORT) for you to get to Madrid, if not travelling directly to event location. 11th July: morning: Departure from Madrid to La Manga (500km), for those with TRANSPORT option #2. 15:00: Earliest hour to find spaniards in La Manga, for those with TRANSPORT options #1,3,4. ------------------------------------event------------------------------------------------ 18th July, 11am: Departure from La Manga back to Madrid, every TRANSPORT option. 18th July, 10pm: EARLIEST flight leaving Madrid, those with TRANSPORT option #2.

WHAT TO BRING:

- Camping tents: We can't provide eestecers with them, participants must bring their tents. You can contact other participants through event mailing list and share tents, etc. Again, you must inform me of your distribution with the tents. - Sunscreen, swimsuits, towels, hats, sunglasses, beach sandals, sleeping bags...... - If applies, alergy medicines.

PARTICIPANT FEE

LC Madrid doesn't have any sponsors for this event. However LC Madrid covers a big part of the participant expenses, but not all. The participant fee will be 90EUR. This includes one week accomodation in La Manga, food, sangria ;), two days of nautical sports, visits during that week (town, creeks, beach...). The participation fee will be collected during the event. The fee does not include the trip to La Manga and back to Madrid or wherever you take the return flight/train. The fee does not include the hostel/food expenses in Madrid, previous or after the event.

APPLICATION METHOD

- Each CP will send to madrid@eestec.net the attached Aplication Form FULLY FILLED, in order to make a valid application, for each participant. One of the fields is "Priority", it must be numbered from 1 on. - There are 22 places for participants. - Depending on how many applications we receive we΄ll decide the best maximum number of places per LC. Probably 3, but could be higher. There will be waiting list. - The accepted applicants will automatically be added to the event΄s mailing list. - ORDER OF ARRIVAL OF APPLICATIONS WILL BE HIGHLY CONSIDERED.

VISA COUNTRIES

Applications *MUST* be sent before deadline 3 JUN. We won't accept applications from visa countries after this date, even if we eventually give extra time to the rest of countries. The reason is formal invitations will be sent to embassies on this date by mail, fax, and we won't make any further additions to the invitations, since embassies don't like this and it could result in rejection of the aplications that arrived on time. Take this seriously as it's for your own good!
