1.-3.9. vietetään Lissabonissa (kaupunkiin tutustumista ja luentoja yms.) 4.9. vieraillaan padolla ja voimalassa 4.-8.9. paikkana Faro (Algarven rannat ja yöelämä sekä ihan asiaakin)

Mielellään saapuminen Lissaboniin ja lähtö Farosta, mutta muutkin yhdistelmät onnistuvat.

Title: "Power Your Future" Subject: Renewable/Alternative Power Sources and Fuels When: 1st to 8th of September Where: Faro and Lisbon (Portugal) Registration Deadline: 1st August EESTECers Accepted: 30 Ladies and Gentleman, EESTECers, midgets and horses... and CP's, The time has come to announce that we officially accept applications for the "Power Your Future" event! The most south-western EESTEC event of all times, you can't beat that! It's also the first joint event of JLC Faro and JLC Lisbon and will take place from 1st to 8th of September in both cities. We will learn what power solutions will be available in the future, near and far, also what will power your vehicles some day, a field trip to two power generating plants and become aware (if not already) that we future engineers have a place in these solutions. Besides you will get to know the cities of Lisbon and Faro, their culture and nightlife! Got anything better to do?! Don't think so... The week is divided in three parts: Lisbon, trip, Faro! From 1st to 3rd of September, the party starts in Lisbon: . Get to know the city; . Lectures about decentralized energy production, fuel cells and bio-fuels; . Fusion: energy for the future! . Know about the big energy options (nuclear and renewable). 4th of September, the place is... somewhere in Portugal: . Field trip: Alqueva Dam and Serpa Photovoltaic Power Plant From 4th to 8th September, Faro is the place: . Meet the Algarve, it's beaches, sunny weather and night life; . Get to know Faro; . Learn about solar and ocean related power sources; . Find out several ways of easily saving energy daily; . Develop your own mini power source project that will (hopefully, if any is working properly) power the Beach Farewell Party. The best project might... get a prize! (These projects are pending sponsor approval...) So, this is it! Apply ASAP or Not ASAP... last deadline 1st August, until then everyday is a deadline ;) Here goes some additional info about how to get to Portugal. How to get to Portugal for the event: You have International Airports of: Oporto (OPO), Faro (FAO) and Lisbon (LIS). If you can, arrive in Lisbon and depart from Faro, due to the WS planning. If not there's no problem: Arrive and depart from Faro . o Transport is arranged to Lisbon on the first day (be there early if possible) . Arrive and depart from Lisbon o Transport is arranged to Lisbon on the last day (leave later or in the 9th) Train is a good way to come here also, but if it is further than France it might take a while ? If the number of registrations exceeds our expectations, participants will be selected using the following criteria: area of study, amount per LC and application order.
