Moikka!
Terveisin, Aki O.

Hi, everybody,
The deadline for LC Ljubljana's next workshop is almost here. We still have a few places left, so if you study robotics or industrial automation, hurry up!
The workshop is from the 5th to the 12th of March. Anyone wishing to participate must write a short presentation of their laboratory.
Here's our main organiser's description of what we plan on doing:
Don't become a robot!
In today's world we are constantly increasing the use of robots in our lives, as you have probably already noticed. Robots are replacing people in the workplace, but that doesn't imply that we are losing our jobs. We still have to invent the robots, design them, program, monitor and maintain them. The important thing here is not to become slaves to robots but to learn how to control them. Has it ever happened to you that you hear someone say 'This computer is so stupid!'? Well, if we want robots to obey us, we have to learn how to use and control them. For that purpose EESTEC LC Ljubljana, in collaboration with the Laboratory for robotics and biomedical technology, is organizing Seven days of industrial robotics at the Faculty of electrical engineering, or 7IR for short. Those interested will from the 05. to the 12. of march have the opportunity to learn about industrial robotics during practical exercises.
There you will work with robots which we will borrow from the robot suppliers in Slovenia which we are cooperating with. The professional part of the workshop will take place from the 6th until the 10th of March, where the first day is dedicated to classes, the following three days to practical work and the last day is meant for a professional excursion to some slovenian companies which use robots, where you will see the actual use of robots in industry. On the last day of the workshop (Saturday) we will organize a short trip for relaxation!
With this workshop you will get interesting and useful knowledge about the use of robots in industry and about simulation packages as well as do some practical work with robots. You will also have the opportunity to meet other electrical engineering students (or to renew old friendships) and (since this is Ljubljana we're talking about) party as much as you can (we've found a new hostel that is 5 minutes away from a bar which is open 24 hours a day :) ).
To apply, you must also send me the following information: Name: Address: Birthdate: Email: Passport number: Mobile phone:
Best regards to everyone,
j.
