Time has come to think about the persons that will be responsible for the EESTEC International in the following year. The elections will be held at the forthcoming Congress. Being in a Board of EESTEC International is a great honor, but a great responsibility. Being on top of 1700 EE & CS students' network gives you opportunity to meet and become friends with some great people. But, the biggest benefit is that you will learn a great deal on how to communicate in an intercultural environment. Please send your motivation letters to the board@eestec.net <mailto:board@eestec.net>. Deadline for applying is 3rd of March.

Call for third EESTEC Chairpersons' Meeting (ECM). ECM is second biggest event in EESTEC, after Congress, and it is meant to consist of trainings. All LCs that consider themselves strong enough to handle an international event are welcomed to apply. Please send your motivation letter for organising ECM to the board@eestec.net <mailto:board@eestec.net>. Deadline for applying is 28th of March.

Rijeka Carnival
Rijeka Carnival Exchange 2008 was a very short, but pleasant event. The participants had a chance to be a part of one of the world`s largest Carnivals. Carnival in Rijeka is 3^rd largest Carnival in the world. Being masked like Simpsons Family, our group took its place among more than 10 000 other masked participants and had a great time.

Each team consists of three members competing for valuable awards. Programming languages and operating systems are not restricted.
Fascinating Parties Great Academics (FPGA '08) - LC Eskisehir

This workshop will be about programming multi purpose CPU's and designing digital controllers. In one word; FPGA's (Field Programmable Gate Array). The program will consist of practical work and factory tours. Also the atmosphere in the student city Eskisehir will be experienced, smoking Nargile (Water Pipe), enjoying Hamam (Turkish Bath) and tasting delicious Turkish meals.
E-Health - LC Madrid
LC Madrid is organizing an exciting workshop regarding new technologies in medicine and bio-engineering. These topics are of great importance nowadays and the Polytechnic University of Madrid has a leadership position in both fields. Besides the lectures, one week in Madrid also has at least seven nights full of enjoyment.

LC Wroclaw is offering an academically workshop containing lectures and laboratories guided by there best professors from their faculty and other professionals in this field. The main goal is to show how to program micro-controllers, but also to explore Polish culture.

The purpose of the congress is to gather all the EESTEC-ers who play an important role in their LC's, to discuss and decide upon EESTEC's development and future. During this event, each participant will be challenged taking part in professional trainings, General Meetings and working sessions, as well as in social and cultural activities.
If this invitation sounds rather 'plain and boring', be sure that you can expect LC's Ljubljana and Rijeka making it an event even exceeding their reputation! Observer Zagreb is organizing its first workshop! An interesting program will be offered, including several laboratory exercises and lectures on "Accelerated Embedded System Design using FPGA". On top of that you can expect trips to the nearby cities and the Croatian countryside, visits to the most beautiful Trako??a and Erdödy Castles and some adventurous rafting. Observer Zagreb will host 20 EESTEC-ers.
